Good Morning My Dear Friends!

I know it’s been a couple of months since I last posted. I hope everyone had great holidays and have been transitioning well back into the swing of things! Also, all my friends in Alabama, Georgia, and other places affected by the winter weather last week, I hope you all have been able to get your life back in order! I got trapped due to the masses of cars, but I was blessed enough to stay at a great friend’s house for a couple of days!

I’ve been mad busy with work, composing, and now school! I am working towards earning my Master’s in Music Education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham! I’ve met with a lot of the Department of Music faculty and the Department of Education faculty and they were very welcoming and made me feel like I was appreciated. Since I am getting my degree in Music Education, I have to spend a good amount of time in both the music and education departments.

I titled this post ‘FINALLY!!’ because I have, finally, put together all the notes for my new piece for flute and piano, ‘Dreams and Reflections’. I’m still in edit mode and have to put in the exact expressions I desire to turn these pages of notes into actual musical literature. It has taken longer than I thought it would, but I wanted to make sure I did a great job because my dear friend Deshaun deserves it! I’m sure he will be happy when he gets this music so he can work on it! His recital is in April and I am going to try my hardest to get up to campus and see him premiere my piece but most importantly ROCK his awesome senior recital! He’s such a hard worker and I only want the best for him!

Because I am getting my Master’s, I am required to shadow teachers (for me music educators) for a certain amount of hours for class. Since I am already going to Clanton every Tuesday to help out with band there, that will now count as my hours. So I’m knocking out two birds with one stone! It’s amazing how God works things out! I’m very thankful! The high school band had a great rehearsal yesterday working towards their performance at district contest. I really am impressed in the pride and ownership the kids have shown in rehearsal. If they keep working hard, I think they’ll even surprise themselves!

The Worship Team at Living Faith Community has been great! I love singing and praising Jesus with these guys and couldn’t ask for a better group of people! If you live near Hoover and you don’t have a church, want to visit, or just curious what this church thing is about, you are ALWAYS welcome with open arms to Living Faith Community! Service is at 10 am every Sunday. So you can sleep in a little and get a bite to eat before you come in!

Thank you all for your continued support! I always try to thank individuals when I can when they comment on here or if they post on my Composer Facebook page. If I haven’t personally thanked you, I apologize but just know you have not gone unnoticed!

May God Bless You and Keep You!
