Happy Sunday beautiful people and Merry Christmas! I know it’s been a good bit of time since I last posted and I promise I don’t mean to wait this long to update! But when the fall started, it felt like I was playing catch-up week after week and I barely got any composing done! It is ok though. School is very important and is vital for me and my career to finish with flying colors! I knew once they semester was over I would have time to really get after some writing, especially with new ideas and inspirations surfacing throughout the past couple of months. When I get a random night of minimal work, I go to the piano and record my ideas and/or inspirations so I won’t forget them! Every once in a while, I’ll post a snippet of my ideas on my Instagram. If you don’t already you should follow me on Instagram and Twitter!

Christmas this year, as it has been every year, was a true blessing. Great time to love and be around with family. So great to get together and EAT (AMEN!), share, and laugh about all the great (and not so great) times. I got to see some of my friends, aunts, and uncles, and cousins. My cousin Halli and I for years now always make sure we get our traditional picture together before we leave. One day I will look and try to uncover all of our pictures over the years. But here’s one from Christmas!

I was blessed to see some of my best friends a couple of days Christmas as well. My friend Dariun and his wonderful wife Beverly were in town for a day. We, along with our other besties Aubrey and Allison, went and got some lunch together to catch up. For those who don’t know, back in September, Dariun and Beverly had a baby girl, Railey Ruth Maxwell. This was her first trip to Birmingham and our first time to see her in person. She of course is EVEN MORE beautiful sitting in your arms! Uncle Bryan melted!

Well even before I met Lil Ray, I wanted to do something special for her (See I’m already thinking of nicknames). So of course I decided to compose a song. It took me the whole semester due to school, work, and other trials of life but I completed the recording of it! I’m not a huge fan of recording myself singing but here goes nothing!

I give you the piano version of Railey’s Lullaby! (hint: use headphones!)

May God Bless You and Keep You!
