Good day all!

First, I want to wish everyone a very joyous, SAFE Indenepence Day! Be prayerful today about the people that have made our country great! Hope everyone gets to spend time with family and/or friends. I’m heading up to my uncle’s lakehouse today! I’ve never been but I’m pretty excited to see a bunch of extended family! Many laughs will be thrown around throughout the day! It’s pretty rainy in my part of Alabama, but we will still have a great time even if we don’t get to go out on the lake.

Music has been in full swing during the summer. I sent a draft of the Voyager Academy fight song to the music people at the school and I’m still waiting to hear if they approve of it or not! I haven’t heard from them in a while….that could be good or bad! I’ll just have to see! I’m currently composing a flute and piano piece for my friend De’Shaun King’s senior flute recital! We had been talking about it for a while and I finally had an epiphany on what it would be. The more I write it, the more alive I can feel it becoming! We are still in constant contact about the piece’s character. The piece is called ‘Dreams and Reflections’. It is going to be two movements: ‘Dreams’ and of course ‘Reflections’. I am a little over halfway through with the first movement and it’s definitely different than what I’ve done before. I am seeing where my creative mind is taking me and I’m not trying to second guess myself. It’s interesting to say the least hahaha! What I’m the most interested in is the intepretation that De’Shaun will give the piece. But this piece is right up his alley! I just keep praying on it and trusting God to lead us through. I want to really give my friend De’Shaun and people who will hear it, something to remember. On my twitter, I posted a screenshot of what I had completed a couple of days ago if anyone is interested in the partial score. I may post another one later this week! 😉

Well I’m about 23 minutes from being done with my shift at the YMCA, so I’m going to go check on the equipment, clock out, and head on home to get ready to indulge in my family’s Independence Day celebration!

May God Bless You and Keep You!
