Hey guys!
Hope y’all are doing well! I finally have a time where I can sit and write something. I just finished my student teaching in 4th grade and I’m home now for Thanksgiving! IT IS SO NICE! There’s nothing like walking into the house with family that’s so excited to see you. In addition to that, there are so many things that I am thankful for in my life. If I were to try to name everything, I’d still be typing as you read this post. But I will talk about a two things that have happened recently.
I am thankful for opportunities the Lord has blessed me with. A lot has happened in my life, whether they were highs or lows. I am blessed to be alive today and share my experiences with others to encourage them and give what little advice I have. I’ve had a chance to share my life experiences with a person I met about a month ago. We’ve become really good friends and have had good in-depth conversations. One thing that I’ve learned is that when we are asked to tell someone about ourselves, it’s a really tough concept. No one wants the demographics, you can read the person’s resume. But who are you? How would you describe yourself if school nor jobs existed? What kind of person are you? I believe that not one person can describe himself or herself in one, two, or five settings because everyone is so much more than that. By the time you think you’ve told everything about yourself, something else springs up and you’re back where you’re started. There’s not a monologue you can recite that will give yourself justice. I think the best thing you can do is really think about what you say and back it up with some life experiences (stories). I’m big on details so stories are one of my favorites! hahaha!
I am thankful for the Fam Bam! My family is wild and I wouldn’t want them any other way! Wouldn’t be as fun and wouldn’t have near as many great stories! They have been on my side all my life. They support me in everything I do and help me in anyway they can to become successful. No one’s family is perfect, no where close, but you only get one. You don’t choose them, it’s just the card you’re dealt. They have things that they are great at and they have some things that you may not be too proud of. Best thing to do is LOVE ‘EM UP! Love them today as we are not promised tomorrow.
I am thankful for friends. My true friends have been there when I’m feeling low and when I’ve got exciting news to tell. Not living near my family is tough but a lot of my friends that I have gotten to know in my career are like a second family away from home. My close friends I can talk about anything with and it’s nice to hear their stories and advice. It forces me to listen and stop all my yappin’!
I could talk about how thankful I am about many things but I will spare you! I hope you have a fantastic Thanksgiving and I hope you are able to spend it with family and/or friends!
May God Bless You and Keep You!
