Good evening beautiful people! I hope ya’ll had a great weekend! I just wanted to share something with you. I got back from a meeting tonight with the Cambridge Christian Fellowship (CCF) group and we were talking about the power of prayer and Jesus being our intercessor (John 14:6). The only way we seek God and can get closer to Him is through Jesus Christ. He is constantly praying for us to prosper and succeed! 24/7! That’s just incredible that every moment we have someone praying for us! That’s just encouraging to me. (Romans 8:34 and Hebrews 7:24-25)
Prayer is so powerful. It connects us with God, allows Him to hear us and take what we release to Him. I feel a lot of us (myself included at times) underestimate the power of prayer. Some of that could be lack of priorities, not knowing what to pray for, lack of understanding what exactly prayer is, our endurance, or even our arrogance (we think we can handle certain things just because we’ve been Christians for an extended period of time…which is crazy right?!). If you don’t know what to pray for, try reading some Scripture and just pray over a passage that really sticks to you and He will give you what to pray for. (John 5:14-15
Also, we talked about a good strategy to use during our prayer time to help us keep align with God’s will. It is the acronym A.C.T.S. (Adore, Confess, Thanks, Supplicate/Intercede). We love on Jesus (Adore), we admit our shortcomings (Confess), we appreciate His blessings (Thanks), and we ask God to do something in someone else’s life (Supplicate/Intercede).
When I was walking to my car to head back to my apartment, I was praying and I got ‘stuck’ in the Thanks phase. I am just so thankful for everything that He has done in my life. Despite how many times I’ve messed up in my life, He continues to bless me. I can simply just take today as a perfect example. First of all, I woke up those morning. I got to teach Sunday School to a wild group of eleven 3-4 yr olds. Let’s just say it was chaos! Then I got to watch a Duke Women’s basketball game with my beautiful girlfriend and we both got to go to the CCF meeting. It was just a wonderful day!
If you’re ever wondering about what is the meaning of prayer or just wondering who this Jesus guy is, take a leap of faith and ask someone. Or shoot, you could ask me! I’d be more than happy to tell ya!
God Bless You All!
